This Privacy Policy explains how StowCue and Zan Production LLC (“Zan Production,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handle information when you use the StowCue mobile application, StowCue websites, container-sharing features, backup or synchronization features, Private Cues, and related services.
1. Information you add to StowCue
StowCue lets you create and manage information such as containers and storage locations; item names, descriptions, quantities and notes; photographs or images you choose to attach; QR codes, barcodes and other identifiers; Private Cues; sharing information; backup or synchronization data; and app preferences.
StowCue is designed so that app information can be stored and used locally on your device. When you intentionally use a feature that transmits data—such as sharing, backup, synchronization, importing or exporting—the information necessary to provide that feature may be transmitted to infrastructure or service providers used by StowCue.
2. Camera access
StowCue may request camera access so you can scan QR codes, barcodes, text or other supported identifiers. Camera access is used for scanning features and is subject to permissions you grant through your operating system. You can revoke camera permission in device settings, although scanning features may then be unavailable.
3. Photos and files
If you choose to attach photos, import files, export information, create backups, or save labels or documents, StowCue may use the appropriate photo, storage, sharing or file functionality provided by your device. These resources are used when needed for features you choose to use and subject to your device permissions.
4. Private Cues
Private Cues allow an identifier to point to information without requiring that information to be printed on the physical label. You are responsible for deciding what information you store in a Private Cue.
Important: Unless StowCue expressly states otherwise for a particular feature, StowCue should not be treated as a substitute for a dedicated password manager, financial vault, medical-record system, or other specialized system for highly sensitive information.
5. Backup and synchronization
StowCue may provide optional backup or synchronization features. When you use them, data necessary to provide the feature may be transmitted to StowCue infrastructure. Depending on the feature, this may include an encrypted or otherwise protected representation of StowCue data and technical identifiers needed to associate a backup or synchronization operation with the correct device or user.
You are responsible for protecting recovery information, Sync IDs, passphrases, or other credentials provided for these features.
6. Container sharing
StowCue may allow you to create a temporary or limited-access link for selected container information. When you use this feature, information you choose to share may be uploaded so a person with the valid link can access it until the link expires, is revoked, or otherwise becomes unavailable. Only share links with people you intend to give access to.
7. Advertising and Google AdMob
StowCue may display advertisements through Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads. In connection with ad serving, Google and participating advertising providers may collect, receive or process information such as IP addresses, advertising or device identifiers, SDK or app instance identifiers, device and operating-system information, app information, ad impressions and interactions, and information used for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, where permitted, personalization.
Whether personalized advertising is used can depend on your region, consent choices, device settings, StowCue's advertising configuration, and applicable law. Even when ads are not personalized, some information may still be processed to deliver ads, measure them, maintain security and prevent fraud.
StowCue does not intentionally send the contents of your containers, item lists, attached photos, or Private Cues to Google for the purpose of selecting personalized advertisements.
Google's handling of information is governed by Google's own policies. Learn more at Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
8. Advertising choices and consent
Your operating system and Google may provide controls relating to advertising personalization and advertising identifiers. Where required, StowCue may present a consent or privacy message before certain advertising-related processing. On Apple platforms, access to Apple's advertising identifier may also be subject to App Tracking Transparency permission.
9. Technical information
StowCue or its service providers may process limited technical information necessary to operate, secure, diagnose and improve the app or related services. Depending on the feature used, this may include device type, operating-system and app versions, timestamps, network or request metadata, error information, and security-related events.
10. How information is used
We may use information to provide StowCue features; associate identifiers with containers, items or cues; perform scanning and search functions; provide backup, synchronization, import, export and sharing features; generate labels or documents; protect the service from misuse; troubleshoot errors; maintain reliability; display and measure advertising; and comply with legal obligations.
11. When information may be shared
We do not sell the contents of your StowCue containers, item lists, or Private Cues. Information may be processed by service providers that help operate StowCue; by Google and advertising providers in connection with ads; at your direction when you intentionally share or export information; or when disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, or protect rights, safety and security.
12. Data retention
Information stored only on your device generally remains there until you edit or delete it, clear the app's data, uninstall the app, or otherwise remove it. Data transmitted for sharing, backup, synchronization or other online features may be retained for the period necessary to provide that feature and according to the retention rules associated with it. Advertising providers retain information according to their own policies.
13. Deleting your information
You may use available StowCue controls to delete containers, items, identifiers, Private Cues and other information. Removing the app or clearing local app storage may remove locally stored StowCue information from that device. Where information is stored remotely through an online StowCue feature, additional deletion controls or a privacy request may be necessary.
14. Children's privacy
StowCue is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 in violation of applicable law. If we learn that information was collected from a child in circumstances requiring deletion, we will take appropriate steps to address it.
15. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled by StowCue. No application, device, transmission method or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should protect access to their devices and any credentials, recovery information, share links or additional security codes associated with StowCue.
16. Privacy rights
Depending on where you live and how applicable law applies, you may have rights relating to certain personal information, such as rights to request access, correction, deletion, or choices regarding certain uses of personal information. Contact us using the information below to make a privacy request.
17. Third-party services
StowCue may link to or rely on third-party services. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and terms, and their privacy practices are not controlled by Zan Production LLC.
18. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as StowCue evolves, features change, legal requirements change, or third-party services are modified. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when the policy changes.
